Why was EVALUATION not included as a discipline debating RCTs?
Moderator note: This question was posed in response to the listing of fields of work that have contributed to the book, and among which evaluation was notably absent.
Editors: Indeed, placing RCTs in the historical field of evaluation is an added value of the book, thanks to the chapter of Robert Picciotto who was head of the evaluation group at the World Bank for many years. His contribution is about the field of evaluation (the title of his chapter: Are the ‘randomistas’ evaluators?).
